What is facial acupressure?
Acupressure, sometimes called "needle-less acupuncture," is an ancient Chinese medicine practice that involves applying pressure to specific parts of the body, called acupuncture points.
Practitioners believe these views are not coincidental; They correspond to our internal meridian system - or energy channels (called "qi" or "qi") - which bring the body back into balance.
Although there is no scientific evidence to support this belief system, some reports that applying physical pressure to these specific points can relieve jaw tension, relieve headaches, reduce eye puffiness, or at least feel quite relaxed.
How to perform facial acupressure at home. If you want professional acupressure treatment, you can contact an acupuncturist, massage therapist, or similar traditional Chinese medicine practitioner.
You can also perform acupressure yourself at home. Facial acupressure, in particular, is a simple practice that can be done anytime, anywhere.
However, we recommend that you use it in the morning and/or evening as the last step in your skincare routine (before sun protection). It takes just a few minutes to apply using a Zamak Facial Acupressure Stick
(like the one included in our limited-edition Skin Soothing Gift Set) or simply use your fingertips. If you're worried about swelling, try placing the tool in the refrigerator beforehand. Cool temperatures improve circulation and help reduce inflammation and swelling.
